International Volunteer Day is a chance for volunteer organizations as well as volunteers to promote their contributions. It is important because volunteer work has a major impact in many ways around the world.
More than 1 billion people in the world live with disabilities. These people face physical, social, and economic struggles on a daily basis. This is why December 3rd is dedicated as International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Another day during the 16 days of Activism Against Gender Violence is International Women’s Human Rights Day on November 29th. It recognizes the defenders of women’s rights and commemorates their activism. They are honoured with this day because of the major impact they have and the risks they take themselves by speaking up for the cause they believe in.

“Millions of women and girls around the world are assaulted, beaten, raped, mutilated or even murdered in what constitutes appalling violations of their human rights.
