Human Rights Day

December 10th celebrates human rights that are shared across the globe and how far we have come in making human rights as all, as well as acknowledging there is still more work to be done. The aim is to educate people, especially youth on the importance of human rights for all so that we can keep the battle going. Many activities will be held at this time associated with the cause and activism surrounding it.

As we commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action, let us intensify our efforts to fulfill our collective responsibility to promote and protect the rights and dignity of all people everywhere.

“Millions of women and girls around the world are assaulted, beaten, raped, mutilated or even murdered in what constitutes appalling violations of their human rights. […] We must fundamentally challenge the culture of discrimination that allows violence to continue. On this International Day, I call on all governments to make good on their pledges to end all forms of violence against women and girls in all parts of the world, and I urge all people to support this important goal.”
